Well my reason for leaving was, I realized following my football club was more important to me than attending the Kingdm Hall...crazy as it seems I felt Watfords slim chances of avoiding relegation were better odds than Armageddon coming :-)

According to one JW there can only be 1 of 3 reasons why you left.
by Bonsai ini asked an old jw friend of mine why so many baptized individuals leave the jw religion.
"did it ever occur to you, old friend, that maybe they know something that you don't know and have valid reasons for leaving?
", i asked.. his response set me back for an answer.

Inappropriate Behavior
by rebelfighter innow i know i am getting older or of the older generation.
i have had a very strange day with a lot of strange dealings with people with strange behavior today but this one incident was just over the top.

tiki " Gyms have showers...." That comment reminded me of the Seinfelt episode where George Costanza ( Can't stand ya) peed in the shower. :-)

We were fooled by the. " Jehover" of the W.T.
by The Rebel ini think that's a fair comment.
but i am not convinced by the " god" outside the w.t so far, and i think that's also a fair comment.
if god exists why does he seem a complete liability to convincing the majority of decent people i know to associate with his one true religios organisation?

Outlaw " is there reason to believe God exists?...no evidence so far.
is there a possibility God exists? There is always a possibility.
.......
And in my opinion that possibility is a long shot, but I have friends who believe in God, they never try to put on a show for me, and they certainly arn't trying to convert me. But God is real to them, and in my opinion they are lucky to have something that's " real" to them.
As for those posters on this thread that have expressed so eloquently why they still have a faith in God, no sarcastic comments form me, as I havnt been preached to or called wicked for not sharing that faith. My guess is somethings people believe which can't be proved, and maybe that's a crutch, a fragile hope but often its something inside a person which has nothing to do with religious training.

rebelfighter, thanks for the post. In my opinion who am I to argue a personal relationship. You don't have an organisation a Cathederal, or a church, but you have your " footprints in the sand" . Those footprints in the sand are light enough for me to respect. But I do think if we put an organisation/ church in front of those footprints, then those footprints should be challenged.
Thanks for a good answer as to why I should believe in God outside the W.T. In my eyes I respect that.

Never work with idiots and W.T accountants and lawyers are not idiots. Property prices double every 10 years. So selling property in Mill Hill where property prices are high ( Mill Hill is 10 minutes by train from London) and relocating to Chelmsford in Essex where property proses are less high, is ridiculousness, unless ....I would love to know the answer.

Ok let's be optimistic, and not overreact, I am sure iam missing some elementary answers as to why God exists, so no soul grapes but answers that God is blameless for the condition of the world today I don't accept.
Still optimistic for some great answers as for why I should believe a God outside the W.T exists.

Are you sad or angry?
by raven inafter exiting the org, i mean cult, how have each of you felt personally about the lies you had been taught, the hurt from feeling betrayed by these people, actual hopes of once believed false teachings, rose colored lenses of seemingly just and right doctrines that turned out to be a bunch of horse $#!+, the shunning of family and friends?
right now i am going through the motions, i've just moved to a new home, which means hopefully no more elders searching for me at my previous address.. i can't help but feel sad though right now because of the fact that although i am not df'd ( maybe the elders will do it in absentia assuming i've been avoiding them and the 2 jc's they've invited me to as well as the last handwritten letter at my door before i moved ) my mom treats me as though i am dead to her, she says " i am living the life of a disfellowshipped person, and until i come back to jehovah this is how things will be because this was my choice to leave jehovah " ok i get it, but i don't- everyone has free will, so yes this was my choice but it is also her choice to shun me, especially after the "shun unrepentant wrongdoers" talk at the rc, funny how they come out with these talks to reel members back in.. she claims that she has an obligation to jehovah of which she promised to him after she was baptized not at 11, 13, or 17 ( young ages ) but fricken 26 years old.
i absolutely hate this organization and everything that it is, it's taken away my family and most importantly my own mother.. i always thought that a mothers love was to be unconditional, but hers for me is only conditional.

To answer your question I am not sad or angry. Who should I blame the the G.B or the prisoners? Peoples excessive loyalty to an organisation? Who am I to judge anybody? So I try not blame or be angry, instead it's my life and the experience I realize made me who I am today. So it may sound absurd, but I try to be grateful for the experience, I hope making me better equipped to enjoy the rest of my life.

What is the purpose of life?
by slimboyfat inwhile reading the magazines the other day it occurred to me that jws never really had a very good answer to that question.
because it was aimed at young people and it said something along the lines, "if you believe in god you have a purpose, but if you don't believe in god your life has no purpose or meaning".
i think that is a faulty analysis of the situation.

This thread " What is the purpose of life? Is way too deep for me, so good morning and goodnight. I am going to ring my mum and dad, ( haven't done that in a while) buy my boy an ice-cream when he comes back from school, and prepare a nice meal for the wife, which I hope will be a nice and delightful surprise.
p.s if a conclusion is reached, please will some kind poster P.M me the answer. :-)

Do you remember 1975? I remember 1984.
by The Rebel inif i mention "1984" you will probably think of george orwell and his book " 1984".however i think of "1984" as a year in my life when watford football club reached the f.a cup final.
( the f.a cup is the biggest footballing occasion in english sport, and my club " little watford" were in it) but instead of going to watch the game, i was forced by my dad to miss attending the match and prioritize on theocratic w.t study.. so for me the year 1984 was the year i should have woken up to " the truth about the truth" sadly it took another 30 years of generation and doctrinal change before this boy became " awake" and understood his defining moment and realized he was fooled by the w.t.. anyway 1984 was a long time ago, but today in 2016, i realized 1984 had a " modern day 2016 application" that happened last saturday, when i took my boy to watch my " little " watford play "mighty "manchester united" and we won 3.1. now it's wednesday and my boy and i are still on cloud 9, even orlandos school teacher started monday lessons by saying " well done watford ".
yes little watford outplayed and beat the mighty united.

All these decades later I am sitting here having burnt my baptism photos. With that gesture I am no longer on my way, I am free. Maybe I should now go too YouTube and watch that cup final I missed in 1984. But I won't because we lost it. However for me and I hope for Watford F.C it's onwards and upwards from this day forward.
